Why You Can’t Trust Skincare that’s “Too Cheap to Be True”

The market is saturated with anti-aging skincare – everywhere you turn on the web there’s another product touting its effectiveness in reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Or, claiming to literally rewind the clock and eliminate aging spots… crow’s feet… forehead wrinkles… you name it. The truth is, only the products with advanced actives at maximum strengths are going to make a real difference in your appearance.  Professional products.

Our products here at Makeup Artists’ Choice and BellEvolve include the highest quality advanced skincare actives, used by professionals, at maximum recommend percentages on the market. You’ll find ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid… Vitamin C… Glycloic Acid… Mandelic Acid… ceramides and peptides… Niacinamide… Retinol… Lactic Acid… Argon Oil… Vitamin E… antioxidants… plant stem cells… Salicylic acid… and the list goes on. You’re also going to find our lines at affordable and sustainable pricing while knowing you’re getting what you pay for. The results show themselves in our thousands of testimonials on product pages, and within our Blog.

We cannot stress enough that the professional quality of what we deliver to you within our entire product line can’t be found on mega-sites like Amazon or Ebay. So many companies CLAIM that their products are FDA 99.9% pure, or top notch… but, the truth is… it wouldn’t be possible to sell them at such cheap pricing if they were of the highest quality. That’s a FACT. With us, you can rest assured you’re getting the best skincare there is, at pricing that’s pretty tough to beat. AND, we offer sample sizing for the majority of our products. Simply click on any product and go to the sizing options to select your sample size, then add to your cart.

Products to Always Pair Together

When browsing the MUAC/ BellEvolve website, you’ll notice that we suggest companion products to many of our items on the product pages to help you select appropriate items and take away some of the guess work. But there are some rules when it comes to making perfect matches…

Here are some to keep in mind for the future!

Pair Acids with Non Acids
This may sound super obvious, but when purchasing an acid serum or a chemical peel, we always suggest a gentle cleanser, toner and moisturizer to use during the time you’re under “the influence” of acids. Using too many acidic products at once will cause stress and sever redness, even burning of your skin. It’s always critical to combine soothing, gentle non-acidic products during the days you’re using chemical peels or serums. Some of our suggested products are:

Sensitive Skin? Pair a Soothing Cleanser/Toner with an Enzyme Peel
Let’s face it, some acids and retinoids are just too harsh some skin, especially super sensitive skin. Thus, pairing gentle products with enzyme based products is a very good idea. That’s because enzymes offer gentle exfoliation for skin that can’t handle acids. Our MUAC Triple Enzyme Peel is an excellent choice for sensitive skin, paired up with our  Papaya Enzyme Cleanser our soothing Cucumber Toner.

Pair Acne Products with Argan Oil (or similar moisturizers)
Often times, acne sufferers are pretty harsh to their skin as they use many strong products to treat the acne (such as our MUAC TCA Peel ). But, skin also needs to be soothed and moisturized especially during acne treatments so that it doesn’t actually product MORE oil/ more breakouts. Skin can actually undergo an overdose of harsh acids and go haywire, which causes even MORE breakouts. Thus, we always suggest an oil free non-comodogenic moisturizer such as Argan Oil, coconut oil, or our MUAC Green Tea-Pomegranate Moisturizer (which is oil free) to sooth skin and protect it.

We hope you enjoyed these suggestions and learning about why certain products are fabulous companions.  If you have any questions or concerns about ANY of our products, or just need a skincare regimen, you can always write to us directly at info@makeupartistschoice.com

The “Phytic Acid Buzz” is Growing

The “Phytic Acid Buzz” is Growing

Best known for skin lightening, phytic acid serves many beneficial purposes within the skincare industry. Although the name may sound foreign compared to the more popular acids, such as glycolic and hyaluronic, the “phytic buzz” is growing.

The most popular use for phytic acid is for skin lightening. For instance, it’s extremely effective at reducing the appearance of discoloration, sun spots, and or micro-pigmentation. All the while being one of the most gentle of the acids.

This antioxidant derives from rice, grains, and bran – scientifically known as a “phytate.” When used within peels and toners, the strength varies from product to product; however, one variable remains constant… and that’s the reduction of melanin. How so? By impeding the entrance of iron and copper into the skin.

When used in conjunction with glycolic acid for instance, a phytic acid peel serves as an excellent exfoliant and skin lightener.

The NEW MUAC PhytX Peel uses the combination of phytic, glycolic, mandelic, lactic and hyaluronic acids to serve as an exfoliating, skin-tone evening, brightening, wrinkle reducing, and hydrating peel.

40% Mandelic Acid Peel

This NEW Peel Packs a Results-Punch!

NEW: 40% Mandelic Acid Peel

For those of you who’ve needed a stronger line of mandelic acid attack, we’ve got you covered. Our new 40% Mandelic Acid Peel packs a punch… so it’s NOT FOR BEGINNERS.

Mandelic Acid penetrates skin slower than other alpha hydroxides, due to a larger molecular structure… meaning a less irritating experience. Derived from bitter almonds, Mandelic acid goes to work doing the following:

–Loosens blackheads…
–Rapidly exfoliates the skin…
–Deeply cleanses and decongests pores…
–Brings antimicrobial and antibacterial properties…
–Super effective for acne sufferers…
–Inhibits the growth of melanin, meaning discoloration reappears more slowly…
–Reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles…
and can reverse sun damage upon continued use.

Additionally, those with darker skin tones don’t have to worry about this acid bleaching their natural skin tones, as other AHA’s might.

NOTE:
Only those who’ve successfully used our 25% Mandelic Acid Peel for 6-8 weeks should consider using the 40% Mandelic Acid. A beginner “peeler” must always start at the lowest strength and work up the chain slowly. We take this matter quite seriously, so always read our instructions within your peel packet.

Stop Over-Dosing and Start Balancing

Opposites attract for a reason… to achieve that ying and yang of harmony between two forces. Skincare requires the same approach for optimal skin health and appearance.

Yet, it’s easy to over-treat skin within the same families of products… and that’s when balance is lost and problems occur.

For instance, with dry skin you might use multiple moisturizing products all in the same day. You believe it’s helping you fight dry skin. But instead of achieving healthy moisture, you overdosed on hydrating products… and possibly clogged your pores. Where did you go wrong? Not balancing your regime.

OR… say you’re combating oily skin. You attempt to dry it up with acid cleansers, toners and creams. You may even throw in a chemical peel to finish the job. But your end result shows very irritated skin with breakouts and dry patches all at the same time. How does that happen? By overdosing and not balancing.

So we’ve simplified balancing skincare with two rules:

Rule #1 — Balance Acids with Non Acids

Any harsh acids or retinoids should always include nourishing, non-acid partners. A gentle cleanse such as our Green Tea/Pomegranate Cleanser, along with a nourishing non-acid toner, and THEN balancing with the stronger acid product, ensures you’re not over treating.

OR… if you’re using an acid cleanser, such as our Mandelic Acid cleanser and toner, be wary of applying an acid serum on top of those products or adding a retinoid cream. Instead, balance by using an acid and retinoid-free, nourishing moisturizer. Our Green Tea and Pomegranate Moisturizer, or one that’s aloe based, are great options.

Rule #2 — Never Overdose!

Don’t apply an acid toner, followed by a retinoid cream, and then a chemical peel later in the same day. Yikes! Practice moderation with acid products. Try one at a time, and don’t attack your skin with multiple acids. Your skin will fight you back, and you will not like what you see.

The same goes for moisturizing products. Balance heavy moisture cleansers and moisture creams with a balancing toner that’s oil free. OR, a moisturizing toner with an oil free moisturizer. If you need to add deeper moisture, you can do so product by product. Just do it slowly to avoid skin congestion.

Conclusion

Learning how to balance products can take a little patience. If you practice the two rules above, you’ll be on the right path to achieving your best skin yet. Never hesitate to ask us for help if you’re not sure which products to match up. We are always happy to assist you.

We’ve carried it for 13 years…

A Product Our Customers Can’t Stop Ordering —
13 Years and Going Strong!
Who says out with the old, in with the new? Certainly not us when it comes to lactic acid…

Our 40% Lactic Acid Kit is a non-irritating treatment that’s outstanding for *all* skin types… mature, oily/acne, dry, and sensitive skin.

For 13 years, this product has improved skin for clients of all ages… with its popularity growing stronger every year among our clients. This product serves as an ideal peel for exfoliating and smoothing troubled skin… AND is unlike most peels because there’s absolutely no down time (hiding indoors as your face peels with redness and flakiness…). This is a peel you can use and enjoy with cumulative results each week that you use it.  (It’s important to use it consistently, each week, for optimal results.)

We call our 40% Lactic Acid Peel our best peel for clients
new to deeper skin exfoliation.  Lactic acid provides:

–Loosening and elimination of skin surface debris
–Softened comedomes (blackheads, whiteheads or red spots) and fine lines
–Deeply cleansed pores
–Stimulated natural collagen production
–Fresh and moist skin
–And, absolutely no down time or skin flaking…only a gradual sloughing-off of dried skin cells and the elimination of surface sebum.
I like to use my Lactic Acid peel at night (I use the 55% Lactic Acid Kit).  Using treatment products at night allows your skin to rejuvenate while you sleep.  And when you awake, you will see a youthful, dewy tone to the skin… brighter, clearer, with refined pores.
Keep in mind, you’re saving a bundle purchasing Lactic Acid from Makeup Artist’s Choice.  Normally, lactic acid is very expensive and can cost about $75 for one salon treatment in our part of the country.  With us, you’ll get your kit (which includes a bottle of prepping solution and a bottle of lactic acid) beginning as low as $17.75, if you begin with our 1/2 oz sample kit (provides about 10 peels!).

If you have more “hearty skin”, consider using one of our stronger lactic acid peels… 55% or 65%.
Think of this peel as a “tune up” for your skin. Using this peel once a week will maintain a lovely complexion that you can feel proud of… affordably and easily.
